When you have replaced the toner cartridge but the display still directs you to replace the toner, follow these instructions to reset the counter and continue printing:
1. Make sure the machine is turned on.
2. If there is an error message on the LCD display, press the “Cancel” button to show the Main Menu.
3. Open the top cover, leaving it slightly ajar.
4. With the top cover ajar, press the “Back” and “Cancel” buttons at the same time, then press the “Back” button again within 2 seconds.
5. The toner menu should display on the LCD screen. Press the “▲/+” or “▼/-” buttons to scroll through the menu to select the color and yield you would like to reset.
Here are the available options:
K. TNR-STD = black toner standard yield (TN-223)
K. TNR-HC = black toner high yield (TN-227)
The first letter represents the color of each toner. Select the one that corresponds with the toner color you wish to reset.
C = cyan
M = magenta
Y = yellow
6. Press the “OK” button to confirm, the printer will display “Reset /Exit”. Press the “▲/+” button to confirm to reset the toner counter, The printer will display “Accepted”.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for any other toners you would like to reset, then close the front cover to finish the reset process.
This reset procedure will work with the following cartridges and models: TN-223, TN-227, HL-L3290CDW, L3210CW, L3230CDW
