So your prints look great when printing on regular paper, but are smearing or rubbing off the page when printing on labels? There may not be anything wrong with your printer or toner cartridge, but you might need to adjust your printer’s settings. This is a common issue that happens when there is not enough heat or pressure that is applied during printing. To remedy this problem, you should set your printer setting to the correct media type/weight or select your setting to Label or Heavy Paper if your printer has this option. This setting will cause the printer to slow down the printing process and apply more heat since that is what’s needed to adhere the prints to your media.
Also, if you are using labels that have been sitting around for a while or have been stored incorrectly, they might have lost the necessary moisture for the toner to bond to the media. This can also occur when you feed paper through your laser printer more than once, which can also cause it to lose moisture necessary to bond the toner to the page & trigger your prints to rub off.
